Full Metal Jacket: Meet The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

More for less.

Further blurring the lines between high-end smartphones and mid-range devices, rising Chinese tech company Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 3.

Priced like a Nokia budget phone at about 28,000 naira, the Redmi Note 3 has a full metal body, a 5.5-inch, 1080p display and a fingerprint sensor which Xiaomi claims unlocks the phone in a blistering 0.3 seconds. A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP shooter for selfies are also present.

On the inside, there’s an MTK Helio X10 processor with 2GB of RAM (upgradeable) to keep things chugging smoothly, 16GB of storage space and a huge 4000mAh battery that charges up to 50 percent in an hour. The whole package runs on Xiaomi’s customised version of Android, the MIUI 7 OS.

The phone goes on sale in China on Friday, November 27th. Nigeria? No known plans, which is a shame.
